From March 2018 – present, the format of being-a.live is as follows:
All being.a-live writings will be performance/performing arts reviews. All such reviews will be negative reviews. It is, however, of no consequence whether the performance review is reviewing a work of performing/ performance art. Of course, that does not mean that works of performance may not be reviewed.
The purpose of these negative reviews is not negativity. If it is a requirement for a review to be negative, its negativity is irrelevant. As many artists and readers alike get caught up in the ideas as to whether a reviewer “liked it” or “didn’t like it,” the being-a.live negative reviews will instead use the requirement for negativity both as an invitation toward criticality, and as a theatrical performance of total dislike.
